We loved our stay near the lake! The kids enjoyed kayaking, and it was awesome to explore the area together. Our room was equipped with everything, and we found the lounge area super convenient for snacks after a day of cycling at John Brown Farm.

My kids wished for better parking options.

I had a lovely stay at Placid Bay Hotel. The property is beautifully maintained, and my room was spacious with a cozy king-size bed and a kitchenette. The highlight was the free use of canoes, encouraging me to explore the serene lake.

However, I had trouble with the check-in process, as it took quite a while for my room to be ready, leaving me waiting in the lobby. There were also some cleanliness issues like sticky coffee rings on the table, and the adjoining door to the next room was unlocked, which made me uneasy. Parking was a bit tight too, but the short distance to town made it worth it.
